45 mm polished removable pole dance pole – a new generation of home stability

If you’ve already trained on a cheap, classic removable pole with a screw-based system, then you know what happens over time: something starts to loosen, something no longer works as smoothly as it did at the beginning, and switching between static and spin mode becomes less and less reliable.

This model was created for exactly that reason – our customers were progressing in their training, and older constructions were no longer enough. We wanted to create a pole that is still removable and mobile, but in terms of stability and overall performance comes much closer to what you know from professional poles used in studios.

What was wrong with typical removable poles on the market (and with our previous model)?

For many years – like most companies in Poland – we offered a classic removable model from China with a spin/static switching mechanism based on a screw in the base. This is exactly the type of construction you still see in many shops and marketplaces. We also used to sell it as our “standard” model:

Standard chrome removable pole dance pole

At first, it works great. The problem begins over time:

  • the screw thread starts to wear out,
  • spin mode no longer locks or unlocks properly,
  • play appears that can no longer be fully corrected.

This is not a flaw of one specific company – it is simply a limitation of that construction. And that is exactly why we made a major leap forward in this new pole.

What did we change in the new pole – and why will you feel the difference immediately?

1) Spin/static mode is changed with a pin, not a screw

Instead of a threaded mechanism that wears out over time, we used a locking pin. In practice, this means:

  • there is no thread here that can wear out,
  • there is no “half-spin” caused by a poorly tightened screw,
  • switching modes is quick, simple and much less prone to failure over time.

This is one of the biggest quality differences between a “cheap removable pole” and this model.

2) Bases like in one-piece poles (professional base), but with a removable middle section

The lower base and upper plate are not a “lightweight” version for home use. We used solutions that you will find in our professional poles – the kind installed in studios:

Professional one-piece pole dance pole

The difference is that here the middle of the pole is removable (extensions), so you can disassemble it, transport it and adjust it to your room height. At the same time, the “base” behaves like in professional models: more stable, more reliable and more predictable.

3) Spherical bearing in the upper plate – the pole “forgives” small ceiling imperfections

In homes, it is rare to have a perfectly level ceiling. In cheaper poles with rigid plates, such imperfections can cause the construction to shift, make vertical alignment more difficult and reduce the feeling of stability.

Here, the upper plate has a spherical bearing, which allows it to adapt to slight deviations. The result? The pole stands more securely, is easier to align vertically and simply gives you greater peace of mind during training.

4) Option to screw it to the floor and ceiling (when conditions require it)

The new model gives you the option of additional security:

  • you can screw the upper plate to the ceiling without buying an additional part
  • you can screw the lower base to the floor – the base has a hole for a bolt

This is a solution for people with more challenging installation conditions or for those who simply want maximum stability. Importantly, the mounting holes are designed so that they do not spoil the appearance of the base.

Powder-coated surface – what does that mean in practice?

The entire pole has a uniform, powder-coated surface. Compared to a polished or chrome pole, it may be slightly grippier, especially at the beginning, before you get used to how your skin works with it and choose the right grips.

It’s a good choice if you struggle with grip or are just starting out and want an “easier hold”. A chrome pole, on the other hand, is a good choice if you like smooth spins and dynamic transitions.

Comparison: new removable pole vs old removable Chinese standard pole – with specific examples

Old construction (typical “cheap Chinese pole” on the market)

  • mode change with a screw (the thread wears out over time),
  • higher risk of play and reduced reliability after months of training,
  • less tolerance for imperfect home conditions.

New construction (this model)

  • mode change with a pin (fewer elements that “wear out” like threads),
  • professional base – more stable feel and predictable performance,
  • upper plate with spherical bearing – easier vertical alignment and better performance with small ceiling imperfections,
  • option to screw it to the ceiling and/or floor – if you need additional security.

That is why we say it directly: this is a big step forward compared to the construction you will find in most cheap poles available in Poland.

And how is this pole different from one-piece poles, and why are they more expensive?

This model sits in the middle: it is clearly better than classic cheap removable poles, but it is still a removable pole – designed mainly for home conditions and training one person at a time. One-piece poles are studio-grade equipment built for years of much heavier use.

1) Material: stainless steel or powder-coated in one-piece models

We make one-piece poles from stainless steel. Thanks to that:

  • they warm up faster from body heat,
  • they are harder to scratch,
  • even if scratches appear – the pole can be repainted

2) Loads and intensity of use

One-piece poles are designed for higher loads and intensive studio use (many hours a day, many users, sometimes duo training).

A removable pole – even in this reinforced version – is intended primarily for training one person. Especially when installed as a pressure-mounted setup without screws, we recommend treating it as home equipment with lower limits than a studio model.

3) Room height

Thanks to their stiffer construction and the option of using thicker walls, one-piece poles can be used in much higher rooms – even up to around 5 meters.

A removable pole is designed for standard apartments and homes – with extensions up to around 3 m.

Who is this model for?

  • for people who train at home and want that “studio-like” stability,
  • for those who have had or considered a classic screw-based pole and want something more reliable for years,
  • for people who do not have perfectly even conditions at home and want a construction that is more forgiving,
  • for customers who want equipment better than a budget pole, but do not yet need a full one-piece studio model.

In the box, the basic set includes:

  • lower base with bearing and spin locking pin
  • upper plate with spherical bearing
  • 12.5 cm extension
  • 31.3 cm extension
  • 97 cm lower extension
  • 97 cm upper extension with expansion thread* and lock nut
  • two rods for tightening/loosening the extensions

*the expansion thread is screwed into the upper meter-long extension and protrudes by about 5 cm

Exact installation heights depending on the extension configuration
S - 2.07–2.67 m (cannot be installed in rooms 2.35–2.38 m high)
M - 2.07–2.79 m
L - 2.07–2.89 m
XL - 2.07–3.16 m (cannot be installed in rooms 2.35–2.38 m and 2.85–2.88 m high)

Equipment you may additionally need (optional):

  • rubber mallet
  • Phillips screwdriver, 6 mm diameter
  • level (required) minimum 1 meter
  • pipe wrench
  • if you chose a fixed mount, screws for attaching the mount to the ceiling are not included

For pole dance studios we recommend one-piece poles:

Installing the removable pole dance pole

Assembling and disassembling the set consisting of the floor base and large ceiling plate is very simple. You can handle it on your own by following these 5 steps:

  1. Place the lower base on the floor where you want to install the pole.
  2. Choose the extensions that allow you to install the pole at your room height, then screw them together.
  3. Unscrew the expansion thread from the last extension, put on the upper plate and tighten the thread until the pole is mounted securely between the ceiling and the floor.
  4. Screw on the lock nut to prevent the pole from loosening.
  5. You change the spin option at the base by inserting or removing the pin

Thinking about buying? Have questions? Read the blog posts below or contact us — we’ll help you choose the product that best meets your expectations.

  • Is this pole suitable for beginners?

Yes, absolutely. It is a very good choice to start with if you want to train right away on stable equipment that won’t be just a temporary solution. However, if you know you have very slippery skin and you are just starting, you may need grip products, because the chrome surface is smoother than a powder-coated one.

  • How is this pole different from cheaper removable poles on the market?

The biggest difference is in the construction of the bases and the mode-switching mechanism. In cheap poles, spin/static mode is changed with a screw whose thread wears out over time. This model uses a pin, which is less failure-prone and more stable over long-term use. Additionally, the upper plate has a spherical bearing that adapts better to the ceiling, and the bases themselves are similar to those used in professional studio poles.

  • Is this the same pole as your old removable model?

No. The previous model was a classic removable construction similar to most cheap poles available in Poland. The new model has a completely different base: different plates, a different mode-switching system and better tolerance for uneven conditions at home. It is a clear step towards professional construction while maintaining mobility.

  • Is this pole as good as a one-piece studio pole?

No — and it is important to say that clearly. A one-piece pole is made of stainless steel, has thicker walls, handles higher loads and is suitable for very intensive use by many people and for very high rooms (even up to approx. 5 m). A removable pole, even in this reinforced version, is designed mainly for home training by one person and for standard apartment heights.

  • Can I screw this pole to the floor and ceiling?

Yes. Both the lower base and the upper plate can be screwed in place if you want greater stability or if your ceiling or floor is weaker. You can also use a fixed ceiling mount – just like with professional poles.

  • Can I install it only with pressure, without drilling?

Yes, you can install it in the classic pressure-mounted way, without drilling. However, the ceiling must be stable (concrete, structural beam), and the floor must not “move”. If you have laminate flooring, soft carpet or a suspended ceiling – then fixed installation is recommended.

  • What load can this pole handle?

With fixed installation, meaning screwed to both the floor and the ceiling and attached to a stable structure, the maximum load is up to approx. 150 kg. With pressure-mounted installation, the recommended load is lower and the pole is intended for one person training at a time. It is not a pole for duo training or for very dynamic back-to-back training sessions by multiple users, as in studios.

  • Is the chrome surface very slippery?

Chrome is more slippery than a powder-coated surface or polished stainless steel. It may require grip products – especially at the beginning or if your hands sweat more. If you know you struggle a lot with grip, a powder-coated pole or a one-piece pole may be a better choice.

  • Can I buy extensions later if I move house?

Yes. Extensions are available separately in our store, so you can adjust the pole to a new room height without buying a completely new set.

  • Is this pole suitable for high ceilings?

With additional extensions, you can install it up to approx. 3 m high. If you have a very high room (e.g. 4–5 m), then a one-piece pole will be a better solution, as it is designed for such conditions.

  • Can I assemble and disassemble it often?

Yes, but keep in mind that every removable pole has threaded connections, which wear out faster with frequent screwing and unscrewing. If you plan to assemble and disassemble the pole daily, it is worth regularly checking the tightness of the extensions and the condition of the threads. For regular training in one place, it is best to install the pole and avoid disassembling it unless necessary.

  • Will this pole last for several years of training?

Yes, provided it is installed correctly, inspected regularly and used as intended. That is exactly why we chose a reinforced construction – so it would not be just a short-term solution, but equipment that will easily support you through a longer stage of your training journey.

  • I don’t know if my ceiling is suitable – what should I do?

The best option is to send us photos of the installation area by email or WhatsApp. Tell us what the ceiling and floor are made of, and we will advise whether pressure-mounted installation is possible or whether a fixed mount would be better. We prefer to check this in advance rather than risk an unsafe situation during training later.

  • Why can’t Flex Pole in size S be installed in a room with a ceiling height of around 2.38 m?

Flex Pole is a modular pole made up of segments of specific lengths. At some ceiling heights, it is not possible to match the segments perfectly in size S. In that case, you should choose size M, which has a different segment configuration and allows installation within that height range.

  • Are extensions from standard poles compatible with Flex Pole?

Yes, the extensions are thread-compatible with the Flex Pole system. They differ in length, but technically they fit and can be used interchangeably.

  • Which Flex Pole size should I choose for a ceiling height of around 270 cm?

For a ceiling height of around 270 cm, size M Flex Pole is the best choice, as its installation range covers that measurement. Size S may not cover that height.

  • Can Flex Pole be installed without screwing it to the ceiling and floor?

Yes, if the ceiling and floor are level and made of solid materials, Flex Pole can be pressure-mounted without permanent fixing.

  • Which pole is best if I don’t want permanent installation in my apartment?

Flex Pole is an ideal solution for temporary installation, because it can be pressure-mounted without drilling while still offering the option to screw it in for users who want additional stability.

  • What should I do if Flex Pole size S does not fit a ceiling height of around 235 cm?

This means there is no suitable module in size S for that height range. In that case, you should choose size M, which allows proper installation.

  • Is Flex Pole suitable for uneven ceilings?

Yes, Flex Pole has a plate with a mechanism that adapts to the ceiling’s curve, so it remains stable even with slight unevenness and does not block the pole’s spin.

  • I have a plasterboard or gypsum ceiling. How can I install Flex Pole safely?

For drywall ceilings, we recommend using an additional fixed mount attached to the ceiling structure before installing the pole. This ensures full stability and training safety.

  • Can Flex Pole size S be installed at a height of around 250 cm?

Yes, a height of around 250 cm falls within the standard installation range of size S Flex Pole.

  • Does Flex Pole spin well even with slight ceiling unevenness?

Yes, thanks to the levelling plate and the pin-based mode change system, Flex Pole maintains smooth rotation even when the ceiling is not perfectly level.
