45 mm Chrome Portable Pole – a New Level of Home Stability

If you’ve trained on a cheap, classic “screw-based” portable pole before, you know what tends to happen over time: something loosens, something stops working the way it did at the beginning, and switching between static and spin starts to feel less and less reliable.

This model was created for exactly that reason: our customers improved, and the old constructions stopped being enough. We wanted to build a pole that is still portable and modular, but in terms of stability and overall performance feels much closer to the professional studio poles you already know.

What was wrong with typical portable poles on the market (and with our previous model)?

For many years – like most companies in Poland – we offered a classic China-made portable pole with a mode-change mechanism based on a screw in the base. This is exactly the type of construction you still see in many stores and marketplaces. We also had it in our range as the “standard” model:

Chrome portable pole (standard model)

At first it works great. The problem appears over time:

  • the screw thread starts to wear out,
  • spin mode stops locking/unlocking properly,
  • play appears that you can’t fully eliminate anymore.

This isn’t a flaw of one specific brand – it’s simply a limitation of that design. And that’s exactly why we made a major leap forward with the new pole.

What we changed in the new pole – and why you’ll feel the difference immediately

1) Spin/static switch with a pin, not a screw

Instead of a threaded mechanism that wears out over time, we used a locking pin. In practice, it means:

  • there is no thread that can wear out,
  • no “half-spin” caused by a not-fully-tightened screw,
  • switching modes is quick, simple, and far less failure-prone over the long term.

This is one of the biggest quality differences between a “cheap portable pole” and this model.

2) Bases like one-piece poles (pro-grade base), with a modular middle

The bottom base and top plate are not a “downsized” version for home use. We used solutions you’ll find in our professional poles – the ones installed in studios:

Professional one-piece pole

The difference is that here the middle of the pole is modular (extensions), so you can dismantle it, transport it, and adjust it to your room height. But the “base” behaves like in professional models: more stable, more secure, and more predictable.

3) A swivel joint in the top plate – the pole “forgives” small ceiling imperfections

In apartments, ceilings are rarely perfectly even. With cheaper poles that use rigid plates, small imperfections can cause the construction to “work,” make it harder to set the pole perfectly vertical, and reduce the feeling of stability.

Here, the top plate features a swivel joint that helps it adapt to small deviations. The result? The pole feels more secure, is easier to level, and gives you more confidence during training.

4) Option to screw it to the floor and ceiling (when conditions require it)

This new model gives you extra security options:

  • you can screw the top plate to the ceiling without buying an additional part,
  • you can screw the bottom base to the floor (the base includes a screw hole).

This is for people with more challenging home conditions or anyone who simply wants maximum stability. Importantly, the mounting holes are designed so they don’t ruin the look of the base.

Chrome finish – what does it mean in practice?

The entire pole has a uniform chrome-plated surface – smooth and fast. Compared to a polished or powder-coated pole, chrome can be slightly more slippery, especially at the beginning, before you learn how your skin behaves and choose the right grips.

It’s a great choice if you like smooth spins and dynamic transitions. If you know you struggle a lot with grip, or you’re just starting and want an “easier hold,” the powder-coated version may be a better option.

Comparison: new portable vs old China portable (standard) – with real examples

Old construction (typical “cheap China-made pole” on the market)

  • mode switch via a screw (thread wears out over time),
  • higher risk of play and reduced reliability after months of training,
  • less tolerant of imperfect home conditions.

New construction (this model)

  • mode switch via a pin (fewer parts that “wear” like threads),
  • pro-grade base – more stable feel and predictable performance,
  • top plate with swivel joint – easier leveling and better performance on slightly uneven ceilings,
  • option to screw it to the ceiling and/or floor – if you want additional security.

That’s why we say it directly: this is a major upgrade compared to the construction you’ll find in most budget portable poles available in Poland.

How is this pole different from one-piece studio poles – and why are those more expensive?

This model sits in the middle: it’s clearly better than classic cheap portable poles, but it’s still a modular/portable pole – designed mainly for home conditions and training by one person at a time. One-piece poles are true studio equipment “for years,” built for much heavier use.

1) Material: stainless steel in one-piece poles

We make our one-piece poles from stainless steel. Thanks to that:

  • they warm up faster from the body,
  • they are harder to scratch,
  • even if scratches appear, you can polish them again.

A chrome pole has a smooth coating, but its character is different: it’s faster and more slippery, and a strong impact may damage the coating.

2) Loads and intensity of use

One-piece poles are designed for higher loads and intensive studio use (many hours a day, many users, sometimes duo training).

A modular/portable pole – even in this reinforced version – is intended primarily for single-user training. Especially when it’s pressure-mounted and not screwed in, we recommend treating it as home equipment with lower limits than a studio model.

3) Room height

One-piece poles, thanks to a stiffer construction and the ability to use thicker walls, can work in much higher rooms – even up to around 5 meters.

A modular pole is designed for standard apartments and houses – with extensions up to about 3 m.

Who is this model for?

  • for people training at home who want a “studio-like” stability,
  • for those who had (or considered) a classic screw-based pole and want something more reliable for years,
  • for users without perfectly even home conditions who want a construction that “forgives” more,
  • for customers who want something better than a budget pole, but don’t yet need a full one-piece studio model.

In the box (basic set) you will find:

- bottom base with bearing and a locking pin for spin mode

- top plate with a swivel joint

- 12.5 cm extension

- 31.3 cm extension

- lower extension 97 cm

- top extension with the pressure-thread* and a lock nut 97 cm

*the pressure thread is screwed into the top meter section and protrudes by about 5 cm

- two rods for tightening/loosening the extensions

Additional tools you may need (optional):
- rubber mallet
- Phillips screwdriver (6 mm)
- spirit level (required), at least 1 meter

- pipe wrench (adjustable)

- if you choose the fixed-mount option, the screws for mounting the ceiling bracket are not included

For pole dance studios we recommend one-piece poles:

Installing the modular pole

Assembling and dismantling the set consisting of the floor base and the large ceiling plate is very easy. You can do it on your own by following the 5 steps below:

  1. Place the bottom base on the floor where you want to install the pole.
  2. Choose the extensions that match your room height and screw them together.
  3. Unscrew the pressure thread from the last extension, slide on the top plate, and tighten the thread until the pole is securely installed between the ceiling and the floor.
  4. Tighten the lock nut to prevent the pole from loosening.
  5. Switch spin mode at the base by inserting or removing the pin.

  • Is this pole suitable for beginners?

Yes, absolutely. It’s a very good choice to start with if you want to train right away on stable equipment that won’t be “just for a while.” However, if you know you have very slippery skin and you’re just starting, you may need grips, because a chrome surface is smoother than powder-coated.

  • How is this pole different from cheaper portable poles on the market?

The biggest difference is the construction of the bases and the mode-change mechanism. In cheap poles, spin/static is switched with a screw whose thread wears out over time. In this model, we use a pin, which is less failure-prone and more stable over long-term use. In addition, the top plate has a swivel joint that adapts better to the ceiling, and the bases themselves are similar to those used in professional studio poles.

  • Is this the same pole as your old portable model?

No. The previous model was a classic portable construction similar to most cheap poles available in Poland. The new model has a completely different base: different plates, a different mode-switch system, and better tolerance for uneven home conditions. It’s a clear step toward professional constructions while keeping mobility.

  • Is this pole as good as a one-piece studio pole?

No — and it’s important to say that clearly. A one-piece pole is made of stainless steel, has thicker walls, handles higher loads, and is designed for very intensive use by many people and for very high rooms (even up to approx. 5 m). A modular pole, even in this reinforced version, is designed mainly for single-user home training and standard apartment heights.

  • Can I screw this pole to the floor and ceiling?

Yes. Both the bottom base and the top plate can be screwed in if you want to increase stability or if your ceiling/floor is weaker. You can also use a fixed ceiling mount – like on professional poles.

  • Can I install it pressure-mounted only, without drilling?

Yes, you can install it as a classic pressure-mounted pole without drilling. However, the ceiling must be solid (concrete, a load-bearing beam), and the floor should not “give.” If you have laminate flooring, soft carpet, or a suspended ceiling – then we recommend permanent mounting.

  • What load can this pole handle?

With permanent mounting (screwed to both floor and ceiling) and a solid structure, the maximum load is up to approx. 150 kg. With pressure mounting, the recommended load is lower and the pole is intended for one person at a time. It is not a pole for duo training or for very dynamic sessions by multiple people one after another like in studios.

  • Is the chrome surface very slippery?

Chrome is more slippery than powder-coated surfaces or polished stainless steel. It may require grips – especially at the beginning or if you sweat more. If you know you have a big grip issue, a powder-coated pole or a one-piece pole may be a better choice.

  • Can I buy extensions later if I move?

Yes. Extensions are available separately in our store, so you can match the pole to a new room height without buying a whole new set.

  • Is this pole suitable for high ceilings?

With additional extensions you can install it up to approx. 3 m. If your room is very high (e.g., 4–5 m), a one-piece pole will be a better solution because it’s designed for those conditions.

  • Can I assemble and disassemble it often?

Yes, but keep in mind that every modular pole has threaded connections, which wear faster with frequent unscrewing. If you plan to assemble/disassemble it daily, regularly check the tightness of the extensions and the condition of the threads. For permanent training in one place, it’s best to set the pole up and avoid taking it apart unnecessarily.

  • Will this pole be good for several years of training?

Yes, as long as it’s installed correctly, checked regularly, and used as intended. That’s exactly why we chose a reinforced construction – so it won’t be a “short-term” pole, but equipment that will comfortably last for a longer stage of training.

  • I’m not sure if my ceiling is suitable – what then?

It’s best to send us photos of the installation spot by email or WhatsApp. Tell us what your ceiling and floor are made of, and we’ll advise whether you can install it pressure-mounted or if a fixed mount is a better choice. We’d rather check it beforehand than risk an unsafe situation during training.
